British Olympic Panel
John Lee of BD Sport was asked to sit on a British Olympic panel of sponsorship experts educating the 28 Olympic sporting bodies on how to maximise income from commercial means in 2003. On the panel were:
Head of Sponsorship for Coca Cola in the UK
Head of Sponsorship for the Sydney Olympics
Head of Sponsorship for the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games.
Following the above event, BD Sport was asked to attend the Football League Commercial Managers conference in 2004 and then look at ways how US Sports marketing could enhance the traditional football model in the UK. Following various surveys, BDS returned to present its findings at the 2005 conference.
Golf Youth Programme
In 2003, BD Sport was employed to create and develop what is now the largest youth golf programme in the UK with 100 schools involved in active competition in an environment where golf was only for the chosen few who could afford it – 48,000 families have experienced the golf initiative. BD Sport responsibility was to develop the initiative, manage it and find the funds to pay for it.
